Etheric Networks was founded in 1999 by W. Alexander Hagen. Mr. Hagen worked in wireless systems research and development for NTT Docomo, from 2000 until 2003. While at Docomo, Mr. Hagen authored six patents relating to wireless security, frequency allocation, resource advertising, publication and discovery, as well as fast handover techniques. One of Mr. Hagen’s methods for rapid establishment of link security is currently under consideration at international standardization bodies.
Prior to his tenure at Docomo, Mr. Hagen was one of the early members of Berkeley Networks, which successfully designed and manufactured the highest density (384 port) 10/100/1000 Gig-E switch routers developed anywhere in the world. Mr. Hagen developed a redundant cluster Switch Control Processor.
During the 1980's Mr. Hagen developed the first Airline Reservation System Graphical User Interface on the Apple Computers Lisa (1984) , and was a pioneer in implementing airline reservation systems running over TCP/IP. He pioneered leveraging automated fax, telex, local area network and databases in international trade.
